The research project Denn wer da hat dem wird gegeben is a collaborative effort involving artist, costume and stage designer Suse Wilk and dramaturg Dandan Liu. The primary objective is to analyze the 2019 jewel theft at the Grünes Gewölbe in Dresden and explore the thesis, wether theft of jewels can be read as performative challenge to the existing order of ownership.
We consolidate our findings to position jewel theft within a database of aesthetic and political considerations. Examining "good" and "bad" theft narratives, we analyze them in the context of historical variations in possession and property relations.
