after aftershock shock, a multimedia dance performance by Jingyun Li and Saori Hala, explores the concept of shaking from the inside without necessarily being shaken by external factors. My video design ranged from what I called the "Dream Layer" with its distorted montage of personal videos and photos unfolding like a timetraveling database, to the projection of poems and the display of “upset” house hold objects. The screens’ and projection’s revealing their written commands are reminiscent of faceless voices in earthquake warnings and are designed to help the performance portraying unconventional responses to the inevitability of catastrophe.
